Iron Man 2 Movie Review

I am not really a fan of superhero flicks but this sequel to the Iron Man movie is very amazing. As can be seen in this Iron Man 2 movie review, I was quite astonished as to how the sequel was done. I know I am writing this movie review of Iron Man 2 perhaps in a quite ecstatic mode, but I will do my best to keep this movie review of Iron Man 2 as objective as possible.

Making a movie review for Iron Man is quite difficult given that a lot of elements were introduced in this sequel of the first Iron Man movie.

I admire how Jon Favreau, director of Iron Man 2, was able to squeeze in a huge chunk of storyline and characters to this movie while maintaining a steady focus on the life of the protagonist Tony Stark. Such feat, though hard to balance, was a successful attempt to offer the viewers of Iron Man 2 a cinematic indulgence.

The Iron Man movie is an antithesis or something to that effect of a superhero movie. At the end of the first Iron Man movie, Robert Downey, Jr revealed that he is Iron Man. Six months later, in Iron Man 2, the U.S. government wants to acquire possession of Stark’s high-tech suit for fear of misuse of a potentially destructive technology.

At the other side of the globe, a son of a former colleague of the elder Stark is developing a technology that would rival that of Stark’s. I guess Iron Man 2 was successful in visually depicting a perfect villain in Mickey Rourke.

Back to Tony’s personal life in Iron Man 2, may I say that his new assistant played by Sacrlet Johannson is a character to look forward to.

There was an attempt on the side of the filmmaker of Iron Man 2 to maintain a relaxing feeling of the movie. However, this movie review of Iron Man 2 would like to pint out that in a movie with too much subplots and spin offs to build, this kind of treatment should had been executed with more vigilance.

At the end of the day, the movie goer gets the full worth of his money. More than a visual treat, the story, despite several sub plots, was still focused on Tony Stark is something to look forward to. Iron Man 2 achieved most of its narrative goals. Hence, a very enjoyable story.
